Privacy Policy
Risecap Ltd is an independent funding partner that helps UK businesses secure commercial finance. We are not a lender — we act on your behalf to match your funding needs with suitable lenders from our network. Company registration: 11203916 (England and Wales). Registered address: 344-354 Gray's Inn Road, London, WC1X 8BP. ICO registration: ZA553906. Contact: hello@risecap.co.uk. Last updated: 27 March 2026.
We collect identity and contact data (name, date of birth, address, email, phone, proof of identity and address), financial data (bank statements, filed accounts, management accounts, tax returns, credit history, existing debts, revenue and cash flow data), business data (company name, registration number, trading history, directors, sector, turnover), and technical data (IP address, browser type, cookies) when you use our website.
We process your data under UK GDPR on the following bases: Contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b)) for assessing your funding application and sharing information with potential lenders. Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) for credit checks, identity verification, and anti-money laundering compliance. Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for AI-assisted document analysis to improve accuracy and speed. Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for marketing communications, only with your explicit opt-in.
We use artificial intelligence technology to assist in the analysis of financial documents you provide. This includes automated data extraction from bank statements and accounts, financial ratio calculation, credit assessment scoring, and document completeness checking. AI is used as a tool to assist our human analysts, not to make final decisions. No fully automated decisions are made about your funding application. A qualified human analyst reviews every case. Your data is not used to train AI models. Data is retained by the AI provider for a maximum of 30 days, then permanently deleted.
We will retain and process your personal information based on our ‘Terms of Business’ contract with you, our statutory and legal obligations, our regulatory requirements and our legitimate business interests.
We collect information through direct interaction (forms, emails, phone calls, video calls, meetings), third-party sources (Companies House, credit reference agencies, your accountant or solicitor), automated technology (cookies and analytics on our website), and our technology platform when you upload documents to our secure client portal.
We share your personal data with lenders we have identified as suitable matches, technology providers including our platform provider, AI processing provider (Anthropic), CRM system and email services, credit reference agencies, Companies House, your professional advisers where instructed, and regulatory bodies where required by law. We never sell your personal data to third parties. Some of our technology providers are based in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards including UK adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, and Data Processing Agreements.
To arrange a mortgage, loan or other plan or service we will need to share your personal data with relevant third parties. These third parties include mortgage lenders, product providers, surveyors, solicitors and other parties that relate to your application.
We will seek your explicit consent for marketing communications. You will not be automatically opted in. We will not provide your personal data to any unconnected third party for marketing. Marketing may include emails, telephone calls, social media and postal marketing. You may update your preferences or withdraw consent at any time.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your personal data (Article 15), rectify inaccurate or incomplete data (Article 16), request erasure subject to legal retention requirements (Article 17), restrict how we use your data (Article 18), receive your data in a portable format (Article 20), object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21), request human review of any AI-assisted analysis and not be subject to solely automated decision-making (Article 22), and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@risecap.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Data retention: Successful applications kept 6 years, unsuccessful 2 years, identity documents 5 years, marketing consent until withdrawn, analytics 26 months, AI logs 30 days then deleted. Complaints: contact complaints@risecap.co.uk first, then escalate to ICO at www.ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
