Is Risecap a lender?

We’re not a lender, we’re an independent funding partner with deep ties to both traditional lenders like banks and innovative newer lenders. As your funding partner we give you access to a full panel of lenders across every product type and the leverage to negotiate.

What documents will I need?

You can get started with a short form, we’ll guide you on what’s needed next based on your deal. In most cases, lenders will request:

  • Latest management accounts
  • 6–12 months of business bank statements
  • Director ID (passport or licence)
  • VAT returns or forecast (for some deals)

The more you share upfront, the sharper your match will be.

Can I speak to someone before applying?

Yes - our team are happy to walk you through the process or answer questions before you submit any info.

Will there be a personal guarantee?

Some lenders may require one, depending on the deal structure. We’ll flag this early and explain what it means before any commitment is made.

Will Risecap run a credit check?

No. We never run credit checks ourselves. If a lender needs one, they’ll only proceed after you give explicit written consent.

Can I still apply if I’ve had credit issues?

Yes. We work with lenders who can support businesses with historic or current credit challenges. Let us know your situation and we’ll guide you honestly on what’s possible.

How fast will I see funding options?

You’ll typically see matched options within 24 hours, often sooner. No lenders will contact you directly. You stay in control, every step of the way.

How much does Risecap cost?

In most cases, our platform is free to use. If a lender pays us, you won’t and we never inflate rates.

If we work with a lender who doesn’t pay intermediaries, we’ll agree a fair, transparent fee with you in advance.

Do you help startups?

We don’t support pre-revenue or pre-trade businesses. But if you’ve been trading for at least 6 months and can show growth potential we may be able to help.

For transparency we work with the following commission models: fixed fee, fixed rate of commission, percentage of the amount you borrow. In some circumstances, we do not receive any commission or fee from the lender, we will detail the commission or fee scenario throughout your customer journey
